Welcome to my website and my name is Derrick Watts. I've always been a "paint-the-picture" type person. To me stories, analogies and examples better communicate a business point or a lesson. Additionally, I enjoy reading spiritual devotionals to supplement my Sunday morning church service. I decided to combine both concepts together in the form of short stories that communicate a special message. I call them "SHORTS".
I have written a book that that is available in December 2011 called "SHORTS" 52 Devotionals For Your Weekly Life's Strife. A few examples have been added on the "Biblical SHORTS" tab. I am in the process of writing a second book that will focus on business SHORTS. Some of those examples have been added to the "Business SHORTS" tab.
Why would you want to read any of my SHORTS?
In my spiritual life, I really enjoy my relationship with Jesus Christ, our Savior & Lord. I am no Bible expert, but I have integrated some Bible teachings with some life events that are common to all of us.
In business, I was the second employee in a start up organization and in less than 10 years we became the #1 market share provider in our industry. Although I was a part of much of it, I cannot personally take credit for any of it. However, I have documented some of our experiences into short story messages that can enrich and help a business career.
I'm not a professional writer, but I have channeled my experiences in business and in my spiritual life into short and, hopefully, enriching stories. Please enjoy my site.
